About this piece
In Christianshavn stands one of Copenhagen's most iconic towers: the spire of Our Saviour's Church. All the way back in 1752, King Frederick V inaugurated the newly completed spire. Since then, the "Heaven's Ladder," as the spire is also called, has been a witness to the city's development. On the outside, there is a staircase, where with each step you take, you get closer to the top of the spire. At each corner of the tower, the four evangelists gaze over the rooftops of Copenhagen.
