About this work
Dive into the 'Singers of the Sea' collection, a series of photographic works that capture the fascinating world of the humpback whale. The humpback whale is known for its unique song, a melody that fills the oceans with enchanting tones. These songs, often composed of complex and repetitive patterns, are used to communicate and connect whales across vast distances, captivating both scientists and nature enthusiasts for years.
The photographs in this collection were taken in the rugged and breathtaking landscape of Disko Bay in Western Greenland. Here, humpback whales gather in large numbers to feed and nurture their young, and it is in this natural element—beneath the ocean's surface and surrounded by pristine Arctic nature—that I captured them.
Each piece in 'Singers of the Sea' is shot with a drone, offering a unique perspective and a respectful distance from these majestic creatures. This method ensures that the whales remain undisturbed, allowing them to continue singing their songs and living in harmony with their surroundings.
The works in 'Singers of the Sea' serve as a reminder that we share our planet with some of the most wonderful creatures, and that their songs make the world a more beautiful place.
