Power of Reign
About the photograph
Everything has a beginning. That also applies to this place.
According to legend, the first Norwegian Vikings founded a parliament on this peninsula in Tórshavn back in the year 825. Since then, Tinganes has been the focal point of the Faroese parliament, making it one of the oldest parliamentary meeting places in the world. At the tip of the headland is Skansapakkhusið, which to this day is the Landsstyre's main building.
