About this piece
In the Faroese village of Gjógv, one of the most beautiful ravines on the Faroe Islands is located. The ravine has been used by locals for centuries as a natural harbor. From here, the fishermen sailed out between the treacherous cliffs to reach the open sea. The tracks from the waterfront, which lead up to the land, were used to pull ships to safety from the dangerous combination of large, unpredictable waves and sharp cliffs.

Poetry
The poem featured in this piece was written by Hans Pilgaard.
